Update: Thank you for the response. I want to clarify that my review was not about questioning the firm’s right to decline my case or whether the internal process for triage at this firm was followed correctly. My disappointment was not with the decision to decline representation, but with how unexpectedly it came after what felt like an open and engaged intake process. I provided all of the documentation I had, stayed engaged during the follow-up calls with the legal assistant, and then, without any indication of how the review was going, received a non-representation letter. That felt abrupt. What I hoped for—and what I still believe is reasonable—was insight into where my case stood before receiving the non-representation letter. A little transparency would have gone a long way because this particular internal process felt opaque from the (potential) client side. There was no clarity on what was happening behind the scenes, and no feedback loop until the final decision. The process doesn’t need to be “glamorous”. However based on the firm’s other reviews, where people spoke highly of the empathy and transparency they experienced, I expected a more human-centered approach. My experience was a genuine disconnect from this and I felt it was important to share. There are an abundance of employment law firms/offices in this area, and I chose to contact this one. I have no doubt this firm does important work and will continue to, but in this situation, you all missed the mark. That deserves to be acknowledged, not explained away as just “the process”. --------------- I appreciated how quickly I was contacted for an intake interview and how the team stayed in touch throughout the process. I didn’t get the chance to speak directly with the attorney, which I had hoped for since my main reason for making contact was to understand what they specifically look for in the type of claim I wanted to pursue. I recognize that there’s a process to all of this and you can’t expect to speak with the attorney right away, and I respected that. I provided a lot of background information early on in hopes of giving them enough context so that, when there was a chance to speak, the attorney would have what they needed to answer my questions meaningfully. Legal issues like this are difficult to navigate when you don’t have the expertise or knowledge of resources, and that’s why I was seeking their professional opinion. While I wasn’t entirely happy with how Luis handled our last correspondence, my overall experience with the office wasn’t negative in any way (may be a bit lackluster in the end). More than anything, I was interested in hearing the attorney’s perspective and I just wish there had been an opportunity to get clearer feedback from them about my case.

We are proud to be one of California's most trusted employment law firms. Our reputation is built on meaningful results for our clients. Every potential new client is treated with the utmost professionalism, respect, and empathy. Our intake team is trained to collect all relevant information and present it to the lawyers. The lawyers review the files of every potential new client, so all potential clients receive free evaluations of their cases by a lawyer. After review, a lawyer determines whether there is a viable case to pursue. If not, the potential client is provided with a notice of non-representation. Follow-up phone calls with lawyers take place only when there is a more in-depth analysis needed to evaluate your case, or when we have determined that we can offer you our services. In your case, all this was done correctly and we provided you with a notice of nonrepresentation, along with suggestions on what to do next and deadlines to keep in mind. We understand that it can be disappointing, but we provide our legal opinion only after a thorough analysis by a lawyer. There is nothing glamorous about the process, and it is not realistic to expect to speak with a lawyer during the initial free evaluation of a potential case that would be retained on a contingency fee basis

An Exceptional Employment Lawyer – Truly Above and Beyond! I had the privilege of speaking with Eric, and I can honestly say he is one of the most dedicated and thoughtful professionals I've encountered. Despite being on holiday, Eric took the time to answer my call and patiently listen to my situation. His attentiveness and willingness to offer guidance right off the bat were incredibly reassuring. Even though I’m currently just a potential candidate for his services—waiting to see how my employer's actions unfold—Eric has continued to provide me with insightful, practical advice at every step. It's rare to come across someone who not only offers top-notch legal expertise but also shows genuine care for their clients' well-being. Eric's ability to break down complex legal jargon into clear, understandable steps has been invaluable. He’s been instrumental in helping me navigate this challenging situation, giving me a sense of direction and control, even during uncertain times. I feel confident knowing that if I choose to move forward with his services, I will be in capable hands. If you’re looking for an employment lawyer who is truly committed to their clients—whether you're actively seeking legal representation or just need advice—look no further than Eric. I highly recommend him!
